Strut tower brace
I thought abought treating myself to a brace for xmas. All the how to videos show dropping struts, putting on a lift, drilling, snaking bolts, welding. I wanted a simple DIY project. Is there a struct brace that would fit a 2010 M6 Heartbeat SC camaro which is just a bolt on? Thanks.

No Drilling Holes or tapping, just mount it on.

Yeah, the early model year 2010's do NOT have the threaded inserts in the strut tower to bolt a brace to. Unfortunately, you have to go through all that mess to install one.

What about drilling the holes and using nutserts to bolt in with. No going under the car.

Even my early build 2011 didn't have the threads either

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Mine was built July 2010, for the model year 2011, and had them. I remember checking this out before when it was brought up. So I'm not sure what the cutoff was that they started installing the inserts. Been a while. Thanks.

I used the OEM strut tower brace with TPIS pads. But it is a bit more difficult to drill the necessary holes.
You need to drill vertical holes in the inclined sheets of the shock absorber towers. Today I probably wouldn't do it anymore and use something from BMR.

Check the info sticker on the cars door jam on the driver side, it should list the "build date" there. Mine does. Says July 2010. I bought it in May of 2011.

I don't have that one anymore, I have the 2015 in my profile pic. But when I looked up my order status posts with BeckyD it looks like it was built the week of 8/26/10

Hmmm, that's a weird one. July comes before August on my calendar. Not sure why yours didn't have the inserts. Oh well, guess we'll never know why some did, and some didn't. But I like your sig pic!!

I would not trust a nutsert to hold a strut tower brace. It needs to be through bolted for the clamping force.
