This is the correct procedure.
I'm not sure what the OP has done to troubleshoot so far, but always RTFM just in case. |

I was skeptical, but after a somewhat crappy day at work I figured I'd give this guidance a shot. I did actually move the car around my driveway last night, but only a very short distance. So, this evening I drove a somewhat vigorous 5-6 miles in my surrounding area and put it back in the exact same spot it wasn't working from 10 minutes earlier when I left. Got out, clicked lock, held start, lights blinked as predicted, and VIOLA, it started again. So, thanks, I guess, for telling me to flog the demon out of it.

Its doing it again. Orange blinkers flash after 4 seconds indicating the signal is received, but no start. Taking it in for warranty evaluation, hopefully I reproduce the problem with the service guy watching.

My 2020 2SS has been doing this intermittent denied remote start since I bought it. My typical chevy dealership "couldn't replicate the problem" which pretty much told me that their techs were incompetent and none of them even owns an A10 2019 or newer camaro because everyone I know that has one has reported the same issue. I've decided to just live with it. For me, when the remote control fails to remote start the car, so does the mychevy app. I can also see a CEL in the dashboard when it denies the remote start, but it goes away when the car turns on and my obd2 reader doesnt pick up the code when i hook it up. The only trick I've found to get it to work is to do what others have said which is unlock the car with the remote, wait a full second, lock the car, wait another second, then retry the remote start button. Sometimes it takes 3 attempts.

When this happens I hit the start button again..wait on the flash. Then lock then start. It works every time.

If I'm already close enough to see the flash, I'm less than 30 seconds from getting into the car and starting it normally...

Yes, all these extra steps seem kind of confusing, you hit the lock you hit the start button and it starts, is the usual scenario.

The walk to my car is just shy of 70 yards so the few times that has happened to me I have it running before I’m halfway there. I started my car from the 6th floor of a hospital once. I was visiting a room facing the parking area and was about to leave. I figured I’d give it a shot. Was surprised to see it fire up. Came in handy as it was pretty cold outside that day. |
