Now VOIDING my warranty is a different story altogether
Hows is that any different?

Plus - you don't get a discount if you void the warranty.

No and it's an interesting thought, X. But some of the controllers and electronics alone a high dollar anymore.

But I used to keep my 81 Chevette running from the local drug store that actually sold auto parts. LOL

Yeah... But I honestly thought about buying a BIW and dropping a crate motor in it, have pedders build me a suspension, and throw some racing seats in.

I think Spike was toying with a similar plan at one point.

Minimalist for sure, but still cool.

Yep... and the state of Oklahoma will title/register homebuilt and kit cars...

They even supply a VIN - it just wont be a 2010 camaro VIN.

I'd keep it stock for a year or two before modding it. I figure any warranty issues due to defective parts would show up pretty early on...Then I'd cam it.

To tell you the truth, it's killing me not to cam my fourthgen right now, but I can't justify spening the cashish on a car I'm going to trade in/sell in the next year or two.

I'm really trying not to be a butt head, but .................. well maybe I am being one.
I have gotten into it with the vectormotorsports guys in the past about their "stealth tunes" and the other BS they spout. I'm all for modding a car, but not for making GM pay when drivetrain components fail due to excess stress

I dont think your being a butt head (except for the whole Z thing ).... I have a Idea... We should challenge the "stealth" tune guys to a dual... They tune it....and we get GM to find it! That would shut up some people....

well, the upside is that I know a few of the people that wrote the programming for the Camaro's ecu as well as a few other people that are privy to a lot of great info. I cant/wont divulge a great amount of it, but things like this, people need to be aware both sides of the story.

Read the whole thread, they were looking for ways to be legit/dishonest and get away with it. Not cool!
You were very rational, professional, reasonable, and believable.

On another note YES the V6's at a performance show raise some interesting questions.
As does Jay Leno mentioning Z/28 each time he fondled the Leno edition.:

Uh, Number 3, uh, you asked.
