This is fairly insane when 13% of all new car sales here are EVs. Teslas are far an away the most popular probably followed by MG's as they are cheap, Kia are doing very well as they have some really interesting designs going on. In premium cars Audis are probably most popular (I have an etron station wagon, my brother has a GT) as the BMW iXn's are ugly as sin but the more mainstream Beemers are selling well. The RR Spectre also seems to be selling well despite costing $420K in basic spec. ![]() |

Not sure about Europe but iX's are expensive in the US so there aren't that many of them. I don't think the BMW EV sedans do as well here because of the overall preference for utes in the US. We liked the i4 but I'm a tall guy, and it wasn't happening. Can't fit in the 3 series or 4 series either, we were very surprised. I'm 6'3 and change. |

Kind of what's been talked about. We're a handful of days from the close of Q2 and official numbers will post.

Survey - 46% of US EV owners likely to switch back to ICE.
When almost half of your customers want to bail, that is a problem. https://www.teslarati.com/mckinsey-s...itch-back-ice/ |

Not shocking given the high purchase price of EV's and lack of charging. Both of those things are rapidly changing, so the number of people wanting to switch back will keep going down. This isn't the smocking gun EV haters were hoping for.

Audience: EV Owners Question: Will your next purchase be an EV or something else My answer would probably be Something Else. Because I already have an EV and don’t need two. Audience: EV Owners Question: When you dispose or trade your EV will you replace it with an EV or something else? My answer would be an EV. We track loyalty on a number of metrics in the industry. One of my colleagues is the recognized expert on consumer loyalty in the car industry and is often quoted by Automotive News, Bloomfield, WSJ, et cetera. These numbers are from his last presentation on EV loyalty.
The two charts below highlight EV loyalty rates for Luxury brands and Mainstream brands using the Household method. That means there is no indication whether the original EV was kept or discarded. Just that the household bought and registered an EV, then the household bought another vehicle with no indication of whether or not they still had the first EV.
