I want to see some high school kids buy some 5th gen that's seen better days get it running again with his dad/brother/friends help then hopefully keep it till their old, and use it for physical therapy/time machine.

Did you already run out of room in that big-ol' shop? I told you "put the air compressor outside"

I aint putting the compressor outside... And between a 21' Bass boat, my truck, my tractor and my Zero turn mower, it is tight... and then toss in my table saw, my tractor implements, PHD, Bucket, 1000LB bleb etc.... my trailer style BS spreader etc... It's tight... Need to get the new smoker out of there and into operation. My trailer is out front right now as I'm trying to motivate the process of restoring it... It's functional but it's ugly... Factory paint aint worth a crap, and after sitting outside for years... Well.... I need a full body sand blast, and paint... I can do it, but the rental is tough, and I need my Bro in laws tractor. Between the two, we can stand the trailer on its side and blast the bottom then ospho it..

Sorry Slow, I'm muddying up your thread again....

This should be the goal post. Keeping the next generation involved. I failed to get my 23 year old son into the hobby, he had no interest and fought me at every attempt. For him a car is strictly utility, and it's a common thing amongst his peer group.

Now that they have become more affordable, let's hope some of them come around.

Lesson Learned:

Don't buy Ni CO brake line from Amazon. The reviews appeared to be good on the surface but, I can't get it to flare without wrinkling/twisting in the flare tool.
Digging deep into the reviews, found several people that had the same issues with it.

Repurchased new line by S.U.R.&R. from Summit and will be here today. Hopefully tomorrow, I will be able to report back with successful double flares and brake lines ran through the car.

Seems like yesterday you got that trailer. I think I lost a decade someplace.

Yesterday a 10 yr old kid gave me the 'rev it' sign, sounded good echoing off the building, and could see that kid has it bad, he made my day more than I did his.

This tends to be the place we can BS and harass each other amongst this weird hobby... and it keeps us out of the limelight with the mere mortals...

I bought the trailer in 2012, right after my first mile event... I had borrowed a trailer from a friend that offered before I asked. I think he thought it was a one day down and back event. Uhm no, travel and set up day, then three days of racing, so four days total... He didn't need it, he just wanted it parked. I got a bit peeved, looked around and found my trailer in Okie Homer... actually in Ft Worth, but it was manufactured in OK Homer... Tried to meet up with you somewhere, but our schedules didn't work out that trip...

I enjoy putting 50 pieces of tubing in a shoe box, but if I gotta run one piece 50 feet, I want nothing to do with it.. I get bored and my ADHD sets in.. Squirrel....

And in ref the kids and cars, I used to always have four or five die cast cars with me at the mile, almost the right color, but a shade deeper red, and young ones walking the grid or the pit area, would always get a chance to sit in Brandi... and occasionally start her... If it was at the grid, I would tell pop if he is around after my pass, where my pit is and to bring Jr by.. Get em something to drink, give Jr. a die cast car to remember Brandi by, and do my best to ignite the fire... I oftn gave the kid a rag and asked if they wanted to help me wipe her down, and was only ever turned down maybe once.. Nervous I guess... Lots of photos of kids wearing my helmet sitting in the drivers seat with the door roll bar closed and pinned, and straps over the shoulder... They are out there somewhere.... The die cast cars weren't expensive but the had a small display platform...

Kids with car habits cant afford drugs...

I might run braided line from the master to the windshield cowl. Undecided on that and got a ways to go before I have to decide.

I've got to run from the bulkhead to the line lock and abs unit in the cabin filter. Both front lines and rear lines. Decided to do Ni Co on those as it's gonna have several bends.

Sadly, UPS didn't deliver today, so probably won't ge to do it tomorrow.
