In my defense, Robert told me, "FIRST you put the nut on, THEN you flare it, wingnut!"

So it was kinda his fault.

Brake line showed up this afternoon and spend a couple of hours scrapping copper because my OCD didn't like how it laid out and managed to get absolutely nothing done.

If it had been me it woulda been an 11 qt change with a 10 qt bucket with a bunch of pig mat, because clearly it had to have burned at least a qt during the change interval!

Production was better today. Got the main lines run and ready to start on the smaller stuff going to the corners.

Will post some pics tomorrow.

You got way more done than me today! If anyone ever claims to have never forgot the fitting before the flare or the heat shrink before the soldering is because they have never done it lol.

Preach…

I didn’t do it as often offshore because we didn’t use flare fittings… I used mostly Swagelok, and some Parker fittings… If it was going subsea, Swagelok, Parker was for surface use in my book, and only if I didn’t have the appropriate Swagelok… which didn’t happen often…

We probably kept 150k to 250k worth of inventory at all times, from -3 to 2” plus… depending on the system…

Now soldering wires laying on my back under a dash, too damned many times I’ve forgotten the heat shrink…

I have forgot the fittings a few times when I was learning. Then one time I did the 1st flare & said you little bastards aren't getting me this time & proceeded to put both on the line going the same direction & flared the other end. I learned that you need to yell @ the dumb ass that did it & not the inanimate object.

It really sucks when you are making battery cables out the good expensive 1/0 welding cable and you forget the heat shrink. Been there done that too. Enough to piss Mr. Aqua Blue right the hell off! Lol.

OR you bend 5 ft of copper, just to make the last bend 180 deg off.

Got Brake lines ran in the cowl for the master cylinder, and front left. Just need to put some clamps on them.

Please excuse my mess while I remodel.
