AN Fitting question

I have a bad crossover line for my fuel rails. I assumed the crossover line used a -6an fitting due to the fact that an 11/16 wrench fits when removing from the fuel rail. I ordered a replacement -6an hose and the an fitting (and hose) is bigger and doesnt fit the 11/16 wrench. I want to make sure it was an error on the senders end sending the wrong part vs me measuring the an fitting incorrectly.

The image attached is my old hose that i need a replacement for and as you can see it uses an 11/16 wrench.

Normally a -6an fitting is 11/16. Looks like the new line might be -8an, which would be 7/8.

Looks like the wrong line was sent to you imo.

Is the part that fits inside of the hose a different size? Wrench size might typically be a size, but I don't know that it is standard.

Different manufacturers make them differently, but 6AN is for 3/8 ID hose, 8AN is for half inch. You won't necessarily be able to use parts of an Earls fitting with a Russell fitting, but both a 6an Earls and Russell fittings should fit a 6an hose. If the hose is PTFE lined, you will need a specific type of fitting for PTFE lined hose. All the manufacturers make fittings for both types, you just need the fitting that corresponds to the hose you are using.

As above, there is no standard for sizing really.

Different manufacturers just do different things, in terms of spanner size, hose size, fitting design etc etc etc.
Hence why it's never recommended to use a mix of fittings/hose brands

The only common thing really, should be the AN thread and flare.

Also, I would never recommend using any rubber type hose with an outer covering. They tend to fail far too often, even more so that stainless overbraid shit.

PTFE only.

Do the fittings on your new hose, not screw onto the fitting at the rail ?
