QTP Cutout Info

My QTP wireless remote control box shorted out from moisture that found it's way into the trunk of my 2013 ZL1. The moisture came from the sunroof drain hose being loose and disconnected from the drain port in the upper right corner of the trunk.

The previous owner did a so so job of wiring it in and then just left the box sitting at the bottom of the tire well. I had been meaning to fix it and mount it properly but put it off. The relays shorted and opened the cutouts as I was taking my mom somewhere so you can imagine her delight to ride around with open headers for an hour lol

So I decided not to rework the circuit board after I cleaned it off and dried it out. I reflowed some of the solder joints and was able to get the relays to click a few times and then nothing. I'll just replace the module from QTP. The adjustable module is QTP 10900 and the one touch is 10901. They are interchangeable and available from QTP and Summit. The wire harness that goes from the motor to the remote module is also available.

The connectors on the intermediate harness are 2 pole barrel connectors with a 5.5mm jack and a 2.5mm center pin. +12 volts DC will open the valves and -12 volts DC will close them. The center pin is positive and the barrel is negative. The motors will draw 0.90 A when voltage is applied.

I'll need to replace one connector and I believe I found the replacement but will confirm fitment once it arrives

I run boost actuated cutouts-100% mechanical, 100% reliable.

I could live without them entirely but they were there when I bought the car. I just haven't got around to working with the exhaust. I'd like to to V band clamps on the headers and X pipe with a billy boat exhaust and make sure the NPP actuators work. I think mine are open all the time.

I'll get around to it, I need to install manifold and lid spacers to drop the IAT, add a fuel pump as mine taps out on E60. Might as well port the blower and add a cam at that point. Then, I'll re-do the exhaust
