Advice on mid sized SUV that can tow

The wife and I have decided a 19' - 21' fiberglass boat is in our future and we need something to tow it. I've been looking at Toyota 4Runners with the 4 liter V6. It's a body on frame SUV which is rare in the segment but unfortunately doesn't give it any additional towing capability. I'm comfortable with the Toyota brand and like a larger displacement naturally aspirated engine over the boosted inline fours that most other brands have in their mid sized suv's. 2025 4Runners are going that way though.

This will be our family hauler so three rows are nice but not required. Also this is my wifes car and she doesn't want a full sized suv.

Please let me know your thoughts and/or experience with a newer mid sized suv that can tow.

I hadn't really considered the Grand Cherokee. It can tow considerably more I just wasn't thinking another V8 as I wanted this vehicle to be more efficient. Maybe I'll drive one.

I checked and it was 2006 when Chevy made the last Trail Blazer SS. I'm thinking something around 2020 and newer.

Sorry Brother everything that new has a v6 or even a turbo6 in midsize. They have the power but I would trust the drive train with 4,000lbs

Look at the Lexus GX460 . its a 4runner on steroids with a 4.6L v8, I currently work for Lexus they are sweet. 2023 is the last of the V8 models, they get about 16-18 miles a gallon.
