I like the idea of a lease when it comes to BEV in general. Much is going to change/evolve within the next 2-3+ years in this segment.

What's the residual price if you were to purchase at lease end?

The UK are still pissed he told the BBC to take a hike and signed with Amazon for $46 million for the first 3 years. Not sure what his contract has been since.

Yes Jeremy Clarkson was a free agent star pitcher in the MLB and got a 3 year deal from the Yankees.

If he really was “full of rubbish” he would not have gotten that deal. He’s the same person he always was at Top Gear UK.

Clarkson did not tell the BBC to take a hike and signed with Amazon.

He got fired by the BBC after punching a producer.

Of course a person can be full of rubbish and still get paid if it generates the company money. You think the Real Housewives provide any valuable knowledge to the world? Or Kate Plus 8? Or the Kardashians? They just provide entertainment and thus make the networks money. Doesn't mean they are smart or know what they are talking about.

TBH, don’t know don’t care. I only got this because ANYTHING at $0 down $330 a month is a great deal. My salesperson told me that the new Trax costs more on a 2-year lease. I don’t really need another car, but since I just gave my SRX to one of my kids I figured “why not?”. Zero chance of me buying it off-lease.

If it matters, though, I can ask tomorrow when I pick it up and sign all the paper work.

Just curious as I've leased a few times and have been tempted to purchase at lease end. Knowing the vehicle was low mileage and well maintained.

As I said in my original post, Ford, GM, and Ram pickups are a lock. They are in hand-to-hand combat to maintain the customers they have so they will all maintain a high level of advertising.

So, 7 of the Top 25 selling vehicles advertised on football games this weekend. Not the most scientific polling, but not a strong look for needing TV ads to sel vehicles.

Some others that I saw that are NOT on the Top 25 list
  • Cadillac Lyriq
  • Chevrolet Equinox EV
  • Honda Pilot
I'm usually pretty good at tuning out TV commercials for Chevy/Toyota/Honda/Ford/Ram, and the radio ads where Mitsubishi dealers replace the song title & artist info.

Auto website articles often function as ads. A reason I cut way back on watching review videos.

I've seen several Lyriq ads in email and on free streaming TV channels. The other recent one that sticks out is the Hornet TV commercials.

https://www.gbnews.com/celebrity/jer...nd-tour-ending I didn't know who he was and see from this people like him for being odd and making incorrect offensive comments Get off my lawn!

I didn't quit Burger King because they offered a Tofu Burger even though I won't touch that. I don't understand people who get so angry at other people's choices that make sense for their situation yeah they need to close this thread because a couple people hate EVs, not ban those people who keep returning to an EV thread with hate.

Saw this tuber who hated the range on his ford lightning, but did roll race with an iconic v6turbo cyclone truck. Eye opening loss for the fast for the day vehicle.
not trying to be on topic talking about an EV for the haters around here...
A Syclone, if made in the same spirit today, would have the same hp as that lightning and still be 2500 lbs lighter. But 30 years ago at busy drag strip events, they were overshadowed by loud muscle cars. It's a strong cult truck and a benchmark to people that have had an S-truck... not a bad thing, they just weren't market hits when new.

Think about the Buick T-types, GN's. They could have been the go-to refined sporty car for yuppies, if given a good next-gen chassis... and not just for the Buick faithful. Most of the EV's talked about here fall into that yuppy car category. It's been said before, oranges versus apples to a hot rod crowd.

I think gm's EV Equinox is going to need to be accepted as a king of econoboxes. If incentives can't be sustained, I doubt it will be. There was a recent story for a 20 buck subvented lease Leaf.

Tyler Hoover? No, I dont know anything about him which probably says a lot for his "fame" outside of the USA. Does *anyone* know who the girl is?

Top Gear though? Ive been watching since 1981, I bet you didnt know it started even before that in 1977.
Ive had friends lend them cars, work on productions and drink with all 3, they are actually very down to earth blokes.
But as a UK resident I also know that Clarkson makes a living from being outspoken, he is often very wrong about cars he reviews and some of his political views fall deeply into the right wing populist folder.

Using Clarkson as a reference is like using Hulk Hogan as a reference, they say things to get attention and remain relevant, not to make a difference.

Anyway, back on topic - Clarkson's position has always been he hates EVs. Even if he drives a great one thats not going to change, as hating on them sells more newspapers, and thats what hes trying to achieve.
