insterment lighting?

My dash lighting will not turn down very low at night.

If I turn it down as low as it will go the ambient lighting in the door panels goes off but the dash lights are still bright to me. At its lowest setting it is what I would consider to be a medium level as compared to other cars.

Are all Camaros like this, am I missing something (dash lighting set to a demo mode) or should I take it in under warranty for a new lighting rheostat?

If it matters its a 2SS/RS L99.
Thanks

idk, but I could see the light sensor not allowing you to turn the dash lights off at night. What would be the point of doing that.

It's not that I want to drive with the "instrument panel" lighting off. It's that even on it's lowest setting it's very bright at night. I like to set the instrument lighting very dim for night time driving, helps to see out side of the car at night with out having a bright light shining in your face.

I agree. The rheostat range is on the high side. I'd like the instrument lighting a bit dimmer than the lowest setting myself; but, I'm getting used to it. Good luck and just treat it as one of those quirks specific to the Camaro.

It's not a rheostat in the Camaro. It's all digital.

Have you read the "PISSED!!!" thread, the English language isn't so obvious after all...

I had no idea the 2SS had ambient lighting. Although, the do it yourself light tape i think we'll all agree is much nicer looking than GM's solution.
