Camaro Z28 & AMG GTR Pro - Sonoma Raceway
Just a reaffirmation of the thread title, I hope you enjoy this video. Z/28 is on Supercar 3R Tires (corded at the end of the session), this is after the Sonoma resurface, from which my best time to date is 1:50.43.
https://youtu.be/KICG46HsvXk?feature=shared No traction control systems were used in the making of this video, (I'm not really sure how they work, need to RTFM). It's probably easier to drive the Z/28 than the GTR Pro due to linear torque delivery. Props to the nice chap driving the AMG who uses the car for what it's designed for! |

That's a great video. What are you using for rev-matching? I can't heel toe my Z for crap!

![]() I have no mod of any kind. Getting good at heel & toe takes some time. I'm not yet smooth enough, but I find it easy to do in the Z/28 compared to long time ago when I was doing it on my EK4 (1997) Honda Civic. A good set of racing shoes helps a lot.

Here’s something that several of the owners use for re matching.

I'm not using a rev matching tool, contrary to void_cp for the Camaro Z28 I find a larger sneaker making heel and toe easier (I'm size 11).
I learned how to rev match in a 1999 Ford Puma 1.7 about 15 years ago. Learning in the Camaro would be difficult, even my friends who drive the Camaro, will sit there as it's stationary engine off, practicing the technique as it's not intuitive with the pedal box layout as is. Other cars such as BMW M3 (E36 EVO, E46, E92) I've used a sparco / puma racing style shoe as per void_cp. |

I also find it much harder to do heel-toe when driving on road, it's much easier to do it on track because you brake hard and you can accelerate hard too.
if you practice on roads just focus on rotating the right foot while applying the same pressure to brake. it's really not easy to do especially if you are not braking hard, but that's the only part that is not easy about heel-toe.

Same here. Difficult to heel-toe in the Z. I cheat by toe-toe, basically, blip with little toe.
I'll keep trying with heel-toe. |

But I experienced exactly the same issue void_cp cited in difficulty to heel and toe with light braking in a 911 997.1 GT3 with PCCB. But it came down to my experience with the car, the owner could achieve a perfect rev match in any scenario. |
