New Brembo pads no pedal

Looking for some ideas before i take it to a shop. I recently changed my brake pads to new factory Brembo pads. Did the old school bleeding method first. RR LR RF LF with my wife operating the pedal. Took it out had no pedal, could hardly stop. Next i bought a compressor operated vacuum bleeder system, this time did it the way the manual says RR LF LR RF Ended up using the entire bottle of dot 3 fluid. Took it out with the same pedal feel. Checked the booster check valve and that’s working. So what’s next? Need some help.

Did you do the inner bleeders first and then outer? By no pedal feel do you mean the pedal went to the ground, or very solid pedal like no booster?

Yes inner then outer valve. Brakes don’t engage till the end of the pedal travel. Even then there is no bite to them. Very soft braking.

One of the reasons why i thought i needed new pads were the pedal was getting longer before engagement. When i took them apart still had 50% pads left. Maybe i had a different issue all together.

Do you have a scanner capable of bleeding the ABS unit? Air shouldn't have gotten in there but there is a possibility and something I would definitely check. I would also even just for a street car step up to a Dot 4 Fluid ( this is not your pedal issue but something you should do ).

I go over board when I bleed brakes, But I would gravity bleed, then abs,Compressor and I always finish with the old school method but I do follow the manufactures rotation. I also use more than one bottle but my pedal is perfect in all of my vehicles.

If the pedal can travel fully to the floor then I'd suspect air in the system. If you let the reservoir go empty air could have been introduced and is now between the reservoir and ABS module, in which case you'd need to take to the dealer and have them bleed the brakes. Maybe check all four corners again and if there's no air anywhere I'd have it towed to a dealer.

Abs can be bled at home, Even cheaper Scanners now have this feature. You can buy a pretty decent scanner for less than the dealer will charge.

Ahh. Didn't know that us mere mortals were allowed to access brake/ABS modules. I believe such capability is purposely not allowed by HP Tuners and whatnot for safety purposes. I should see if my scanner can do this; recently put Brembos on the V6 but just bled/refilled with DOT3; planning to install the V8 master cylinder and fill with DOT4 but wasn't sure about the ABS bleeding.

HPT has pretty much decided to stick with Drivetrain modules as a tuning software. They just don't touch anything else since you don't tune those modules.

I have the innova 3100 that does not do abs. It can read abs codes but won’t activate them.

Just ordered the maxi check pro scanner with abs bleed. Let’s see if that works.

There is a proper sequence according to the service manual and it's different than the traditional. Not saying this is why your pedal floors, just an FYI.

This might help too.

You can try tapping the calipers with a rubber mallet while bleeding as well, air bulbs can be caught anywhere. I believe you changed a caliper as well and that's the one I'd focus on the most , did you run system/master dry by any chance?
