Brilliant, that's thinking outside the box!

Cool build! I too miss the days of heavy banter on Camaro5. Great to see the modding bug is still alive!

Well I can't claim this as an original idea. A few people here have done this before.
That being said, I believe it is a worthwhile mod that will save a lot of time in the future.

I wish I was here back then, I see all the old threads and do wish I could have been apart of that... Have you done anything to your Camaro lately? Brian

Great job with the trap door! I tried one of those and couldn't get it to work the way I wanted, I think one of the ribs in the body was in the way IIRC. Now I will have to go look.. lol

There was a rib on the right side. I chose to take that rib out. It's riveted on the corners and the front lip. 3 of the rivets on the right side are "decorative". Foam on the underside to seal it reasonably well.
There is a small gap on the back, but the foam filled it well.

Small update.
Decided and bought a long block. Since I decided what I was doing, went ahead and snagged Huron Speed manifolds, and a Holley High Ram. The Huron Speed manifolds look extremely nice. The high ram is massive. Got the cowl cut before I start painting. Hoping to paint in the next 2 weeks.

It was a tough decision to make. I went between 4 builders. In no particular order, TSP, Thompson, LME, and GPI.
TSP got knocked out early as their communication was non existent. Not gonna beg you to take my money. LME was a serious contender but price was the highest out of all of them and I was working in a budget. It came down to GPI and Thompson. Dealing with Andrew was a pleasure and was very attentive. Pricing was just more than I wanted when compared to Thompson. Thompson, first of all, huge props to Cassidy! She worked hard to get the sale and made a lot of effort to get me more for less. She was available for all my questions and made no hesitation to accommodate my needs and answer my silly questions. Thompson won the bid. I came out with a Dart 427 rated at 1800hp with a billet crank. Frankenstein Boost Monster LS3 heads, paired with their Stage 3 turbo cam and supporting parts. Assembled and dyno break in. Sealed up except for the oil pan (gonna weld in drain backs for the turbos in mine.). She tossed in their billet valve covers with -10an fittings. She even waived shipping and all their builds come with a 12 month warranty on their work.

Gotta love it when fails to come together.
Gonna have to get creative to get the rail to sit all the way down on the injectors. Need to drop at least 5mm. ![]()
