Oil

Sorry, as I'm sure this has already been addressed, but does the LT V6 engines come with Mobil 1? And if not, is it recommended to put in after the break in oil change?

Does not come with Mobil 1, you can use non synthetic if you choose.
Cadillac's with same engine, come with Mobil 1 in them. Food for thought.

I guess this is actually a good thing that it does not come with Mobil 1 stock. Easier to break in the engine then put the good stuff in!

Yep, Mine will have Mobil 1 in it soon enough. I think with some of the tight tolerances and fine engineering, that this motor deserves the best we can put in it.

I'll be changing mine when I bring it out of storage next spring.

What are the effects of putting synthetic oil such as mobile 1 in the engine compared to another regular oil?

uniform oil particulate size, smoother operation, higher heat tolerances, better detergents, longer lasting (with the right filter), overall better and longer protection.

Has anyone seen actual tests of cars using regular oil and changing every 3000 miles vs cars running synthetic and changing every 7500 miles?

Curious if a significant internal engine difference can be seen at 100,000 when disassembling the engine?

thanks
J

Got my FREE oil change at the dealer at 1500 miles and they use nothing but Mobile 1. I will request synthetic at my next change.

This is a pretty good analysis. In summary, synthetic oil is better. People should think about natural things and synthetic things in context because a lot of people are under the assumption that natural products are the best for everything. Natural things are better for that which occurs in nature. Obviously, cars aren't naturally occurring on the National Geographic channel—food for thought.
