Z/28 Gen 5 Air Filter

Air filter off a 2015 Z with 599 miles. I purchased the car with only 599 miles in November of '23 and the filter had a dent and being as anal as I am couldn't stand the dent so it was replaced with a new one. As you can see, it wouldn't bother 99% of the people looking at it. Check out the pics, these are becoming harder to find.
Amazon has them for $77, selling this for $45 plus shipping.
Posted here since it is Z/28 specific, move it to the classified ads if needed.

That filter looks exactly like my big K&N filter, mine has the same kind of dent, I just turned the filter so I couldn't see it. No harm, no foul..

Yeah, I have a suspicion that K&N makes them. They look REAL close. Obviously without the "Z/28" logo embossed on the end.

Turning it was my first idea as well but the oem has indentations and looked like it would only mount one way.

My K&N looked and worked fine as compared to the GM CAI I purchased out of state for my SS. (because I live in the republeak of CA) The red oil tint faded and I decided to leave it dry. Do you K&N users 'recharge' yours with their oil?

Yes sir! I use their "filter charger" cleaning kit on mine. I have 2 filters, one on the car, and one sitting in the box all cleaned up and ready to go for when I need a swap them out.

I guess the argument goes that the oil attracts extra dirt, maybe clogging the filter sooner? I suppose if it traps it, it works. I guess I wasn't going to fall on my sword over this one though!

Yeah I'm guessing the oil stops the "smaller" particles from getting in. Trick is to change, or clean the filter BEFORE it becomes a "restriction" problem! I swap mine when the redness turns to a dull white/grey color. The other thing is to make sure you don't use TOO much oil when you refresh it, as if you do, it could get sucked out and onto the MAF, causing issues.
