Speedometer and Tachometer needles stuck at 0

My Speedometer and Tachometer needles are stuck at 0 when I start my 2010 SS and they do not work when I start driving at all. Is there any DIY fix to it or do I have to buy another instrument cluster?

My Tach was stuck on zero and was caused by a bad battery. Never heard of both not working. Any codes?

More than likely any codes for this would be stored somewhere that a basic "P" (powertrain) code reader wouldn't see them.

I have had the issue where either my tach or speedometer, whichever decided to act up that day, would stick at zero. It was always at the same time that I would get a Stabilitrak error. It was my battery. If you try to start the Camaro with less than optimal battery voltage it will usually throw a Stabilitrak error on the DIC, I have noticed.

Occasionally I will get this when I haven't started my car in a couple of weeks.

When my tach wasn't working due to a weak battery it threw a crank sensor code. Always worth a shot to check.
