Why didn't/don't they run the Z/28 in dry conditions. I'd like to see the real time.

A lot of things have to lineup to get these times done on that track. Cost Big $$ too to make it certified. Plus the ZL1 was faster

Lower dew point and no rain for the last minute of the track the Z/28 would be a 7:30 or high 7:20s car at the N-ring.

I read at one point that GM estimated a 6 second better time had it not been for the rain.

Yes that's just the rain. However, you have to account the overall dew point as well which will effect the slipperiness of the track as well. GM is super conservative with their estimates. But, nonetheless a 7:31 estimated time for 2014 is super impressive. Porsche has the luxury of hand picking perfect conditions.BMW just ran the brand new M4 CS to 7:30 at the track.... goes to show the level of handling and overall performance the Z/28 has even to this day.

The ZL1 time is pretty impressive....iron rotors...20" wheels and tires....fully loaded...4120lbs

Z/28...3820...

I love both cars but if I had to pick a daily driver it would be the ZL1

If I were rich I would own both

I really like the 5th Gen ZL1! My favorite of all the supercharged modern muscle. The LSA is an absolute BRUTE! I need to add one to my stable.
