3.5 DSS aluminum Drive shaft question

Rear Subframe/Cradle Lock-out kit MUST BE INSTALLED on the vehicle PRIOR to installing a Driveshaft Shop 1-Piece Driveshaft

What does this entail or mean?

I have a one piece DSS shaft and did not use a Cradle lock out kit. I believe I may have read something about that regarding the Gen 6 Camaro. Unless they are doing something way different now, you should be fine bolting it in.

News to me as well! We didn't do anything like that on my install... It wasn't even mentioned in the install instructions.

I believe they are trying to limit the amount of movement as the one piece doesn't have as much give as the 2 piece. As a daily diver that isn't driven hard probably would never have an issue.

In my opinion cradle mounts are an absolute must in these cars no matter the type of use.

What Joe said. When you install one of these, at least mine does, the TQ that is delivered to the rear is a massive difference than what the stock DS delivered, it's like twice as much, and INSTANT! No lag, so yeah like most of us have done, solid cradle mounts are a must to limit the cradle movement and not mess up the DS couplings/joints. Hers's a cool vid showing what I'm talking about. Enjoy!

I am a manual. Some use solid mounts, some do not. I do not and have a twin turbo set up with 648 whp and a ZL1 diff and axels. All depends on how hard you want to drive it.

That too. You don't really need solid mounts, but if you drive your Camaro hard a lot, ya might want to. Plus if you do install the solids, expect some increased NVH..
