Advice please!
Hey guys.
My driver side seat frame and motor are broken and it needs to be replaced, This is the item. https://www.gmpartscenter.net/oem-pa...at-bk-13598492 I can only find it here and 1 seller on Ebay. I live in South Korea and they will not ship it there. So if I get it, I will have it shipped to my friend in New Jersey. The costs will be 408$ part, 106$ delivery and 38$tax. Then my friend will send it to Korea, estimated $250 delivery on a complete guess and 150$ in import duties. Finally, labor cost, god knows, 300 bucks? So if I am correct a total of 1150$!! For that I could buy a brand new sparco race/GT seat/and the fittings and have it fitted for less. However, I am aware I will lose electric functions and then there will be no airbag which seems dangerous to me.and something will probably have to be done to the wiring to fool the car into thinking the air bag is there. I suppose you guys that do swap seats swop for other SS seats with airbags. I dont have that luxury. Any advice is really appreciateed!

Pretty sure there are resistors on Amazon or Ebay that will stop airbag codes. I recall a couple threads on here about it as well.

100 years ago, maybe the people didnt make it in a crash. Besides they weren’t going as fast as today’s cars.
Are these side air bags so paramount in safety? Some things are critical and some things dont do that much. That should of been my question!

In the 70s, I used to sleep on the package tray because I did not like being in the middle seat over the hump on long road trips. My parents thought nothing of it. Back then, most hotel room doors opened to the outdoors too, which freaks a lot of people out today.
