Battery Corrosion (Neg Terminal only) help

I been struggling with figuring out what's going on with my electrical, I cleaned off the corrosion and used corrosion prevention but now it's returned. Seems to be only on the negative terminal and on the small gauge wire. I have a yellow top battery by optima. Today while sitting idle the radio turned off.
Can anyone help me figure out my next step ?

Terminal is leaking.. probably cracked plastic.

Neutralize with hot water / baking soda solution, sprinkle area w corn starch / baby powder and see if it returns. Baby powder should help track the leak.

Thanx, I'm also think my voltage regulator is going out, voltage was at 15 and 15.2 for a few days. As of right now it's at 12 but jumps to 14 at times but can't determine when it raises throughout the day

It's temperature / load based, so it will bounce around. 15 is probably high end. I'd bet that terminal was over torqued and plastic cracked.

Thanx for the help and info, I'm always on a trial and error basis with my vehicle. I never thought about the actual terminal post being torqued. I can see now how I have done it, my terminals have the ridiculous t bolts, I don't like them because if I wanted to add a shim, there's no room for the t bolt to clamp a grip underneath. Well I'm gonna probably get a new b with a warranty this time.

Thanx again, Im proactive on any problems I face, at times it's the last thing before sleep and the first thing when I wake. I guess it keeps me young but at some point I'd like a vacation from problem solving
