Lowering a 5th gen 1LE and high compression rubing?

Anyone lower a 5th gen 1LE with 6th gen 1LE wheels, has 285/35 and a 305/35 tires and run a high compression track like Barber or go to Tail of the Dragon?

Any rubbing/scrubbing? Did it help turning/balance or hurt it?

Pic of my ZL1 at TOD...

That's a cool pic man! Did you ever get those center caps on your Feradda's to go on your ZL1, I replied to your PM about?

I was under the impression that the 5th gen 1LE/ZL1 wheels and 6th gen 1LE wheels were the same sizes and offsets. 20x10" +20 Front and 20x11" +43 Rear.

My 1LE is not lowered yet because my driveway approach angle barely accommodates it at the stock ride height.
What I have heard is that lowering 1" to 1.25" is fine with the factory 1LE wheels, but going past the 1.25" mark could result in some rubbing depending on wheel and tire width.
Also been told that diff offset bushings are needed past 1.25" because the axels will begin to fail.
The Camaro guys I tracked with all have lowered 1.25" and stepped down to 19" wheels at 11" wide for a square 305 or 315 setup.

I've decided to sell the Zl1 and the Wheels/tires.

I drive pretty hard at the Dragon, huge amount of compression up there as witnessed by that pic.

The ZL1 has magneride, the 1LE does not. I hit a pothole up there in the ZL1 in a corner, it bent my wheel and the front tire hit the fender and perfectly flared it out.

The wheels do have the same offsets, after seeing a tire hit my fender on the ZL1 when I hit the pot hole now I know it's possible, even in that pic you can see on the very front of the left fender where it meets the bumper the tire has hit it.

Most people never drive even a racetrack with that much compression in a corner, only place I can think of is Barber turns 3 and in between 12-13.

Me in a stock height C5 Z06 on the Dragon...

If you look at the fender lip, you can see the flare in it. I have since had it fixed.
