Idle Surge after cam install 2012 Camaro SS

I installed a BTR Stage 2 V2 cam on my Auto 2012 Camaro SS (ls3 not l99 so no VVT AFM DOD). New Delphi LS7 lifters, 5/16 hardened pushrods 7.425', dual valve springs.

Just fired it up and this is what it sounds like any thoughts on what it could be?

Well - it's going to need to be tuned before it's going to idle properly. However, you may have more going on than that. It's hard to tell from the video, but it almost sounds like it's only running on 4 cylinders. This is more common than you might think - it's very easy to get the ignition coil harness flipped, and essentially have the wrong firing order. Typically you'll get some back-fires through the intake when you do this, but I have heard/seen where they will start and run, they just sound fun. So, I would make sure you don't have one bank running cold - if you do, then I would start by checking that as it is an easy, commonly made mistake.

If it's running on 4 cylinders I would check the grounds. I recall seeing this after a friend's cam install. There was a ground wire, I believe on the rear of the right cylinder head that was damaged during the cam swap and the injectors on one side were not working. Good luck.

My car sounded similar to this when I did the coil pack relocation & hooked up 2,4,6,8 backwards.

Update: I was able to fix this issue.

Reason: I never replaced the intake manifold gaskets (idk why) so I pulled them off and bought some new ones, runs good now, it does have a base tune from cordes performance in AZ to get it up and running.

Possible reasons I fixed as well: When I put the motor back together I forgot to add 2 grounds that were on it before, could have impacted the way it ran as well

Glad you got it fixed! I would guess it was the grounds & great advice by RedTexasSS to point those out. I have heard of people reusing intake gaskets but glad to see that you changed them also. Post another video if you can!
