I'm interested in that too, where I live A\C is hardly ever used, so it would be nice to know if this can be avoided.

This is what I was told:

If you live in a climate where you do not use the heater much, you need to use it at least once a week or so. It doesn’t have to be for a long time. The problem seems to start when the blend door sticks to the heater core and the actuator ends up breaking the door because the door is made of plastic. So, you will need to cycle from cold to hot at least once a week to prevent the door from sticking to one side.

Small, but effective mod list:

Roto-Fab Intake, TSP 2" Long tubes, TSP catless mids, MSD spark plug wires, stock catback, Elite Catch Can, APEX washer relocation and scoop, VMAX throttle body, Diablo InTune-Tuned by Matt@FSP, and a JacFab license plate bracket.

Thank you and this is something I'll keep in mind from now on. I've only used the heater twice in the past year. And both times were
while i was just checking to make sure everything in the car worked properly.

Greetings all. Found you nice folks on Google searching for an answer that I just can’t find. Searched my ass off on numerous sites but you guys seem the nicest all around.

So this thread subject has been a huge help….but what in the heck do you do with the two hoses you removed from the pump? Not to sound stupid…but if the show fits right?

Thank you for reading.

Are you removing the hoses from the heater core? you just loop them together!

Hi! Thank you for answering.

Ok stupidity ensues….

I did not remove them from the core…I just zip tied them to the U hose. I’m not sure what you mean by loop them together, however my “read it on the internet and watch YouTube videos” took a turn for the worst…

I topped off (over filled) the coolant I lost during the hose swap, and the car overheated, I drained some coolant (too much)and the car overheated. I reattached the heater hoses, added some coolant (not enough) and the car over heated. I turned the heat in and the car was really overheated. I’m very low on coolant now so I’m getting some more coolant tomorrow and keep working that problem. Fortunately I have a big fan pointed at the front of the car to help me not blow anything up.

Maaaaaan….It’s like a one man keystone cop movie out there.

I’m just trying to get ready for a road trip this summer and the AC is acting up and I wanted to either confirm or eliminate the blend doors are good. (That’s a whoooooooool ‘nuther story)

PS. That’s a nice car…. Wanna trade it for an 800RWHP 2010 2SS/RSS with 60,000 miles, a questionable AC system and low on coolant?

Here comes the world’s biggest lie. Ready?

I understand that. Lol

The hack I get, I don’t get the aluminum door clause.

(For those reading and shaking your head, I’m reading this and shaking my own head too.)

Thank you. All. I seem to have is cold air not blowing out of the drivers side vent and occasionally no cold air which resumes after I turn off the ac for a couple of minutes….so weird.

I got everything back to normal tempature, but now I have freezing cold air on the passengers side and warmish air on the drivers side. I’m just gonna do this…seriously though…I’m gonna put that U hose back on and refill the coolant CORRECTLY and try it again. I’m still not sure what to do with the two hoses I take off the pump.
