Wow - that is impressive Lou. There is nothing like Black Paint worked to a high gloss.

A mirror. And then a dust magnet, so regular use of a car duster is a must before touching the Paint with anything.

I have tried just about every type of polishing compound, wax, detail spray's, etc. I like Meguiar products. I was able to get 14 year old paint cut and buffed out to match the fresh paint on the Kit Panels - that is a process for sure.

But never a Ceramic, and wonder if they are really worth a go to see how that would work out.

Any recommendations from the Members who have used Ceramic?

Looks great Lou. Black is definitely sexy, but a chore to keep clean.

I like Adams ceramic coatings. I've used their normal 9H coating and then their advanced graphene coating. They're simple to use and my Camaro has been 6 years on the normal coating. Its starting to degrade now. The advanced is far superior in the hydrophobic property. They say the advanced is thicker meaning it'll last longer. Compared to wax and sealants, ceramics last much longer and have better hydrophobic properties. In my experience they offer more depth in the paint and have that wet look compared to waxes.

Other brands that are good is cquartz and g techniq. Not all ceramics are equal. The cheap crap you can get on Amazon is exactly that...... cheap crap.

If you are the person that waxes your vehicle every month because you love it then continue that. Ceramics are more of a do it and forget it. One thing I do like about ceramics is when you polish, your polishing the ceramic off, not the clear. So that micro marring is typically in your ceramic not the clear.

I used Adams Advanced Graphene and it wen ton and off fairly easily, I have used Gtecniq as well. The Adams has been on for two years and about once a year I hit it with the Advanced quick detail. Seems to be going strong. I have 4 Black vehicles besides my Ashen Camaro. I typically wax them and use the advanced quick detail-er on them. I am very careful with my cars as I hate swirls, I have a few shelves filled with detailing products of all sorts.

Oh and you car looks great lol Forgot what this thread was about.

I should mention, he did double apply the ceramic coating, he loves my car and has been detailing it for years. Of course when I drove it home, it was full of dust, by my California duster cleaned it right up…..pretty amazing.
