Brembos are squealing....
Replaced my front and rear Brembo rotors/pads with zinc plated Detroit Axle rotors on all 4 corners along with Hawks Performance Ceramic pads as well. No issues since Mid Feburary with this setup... and now all of a sudden I get a loud squeal at slow stops. Is it my pads that is glazing over and I need to remove and them down? Or is it something else? It is embarrassing.

Pull the pads back off and put high temp anti seize on the back of the pad where it touches anything.

I did that with the supplied packet from Hawks Performance for the rear. When I ordered the front pads.. it did not come with a packet. I used SIL-GLYDE instead. Perhaps that's where the problem is? I'll have to take it off and do what you said.

I did that Mid Feb... until now its a problem. I'll do that again when I remove the front pads and get the high temp lubricant on it then go from there.

SIL-GLYDE is to thin in my opinion to be used on the back of the pads, Use a caliper grease or one of the permatex types which is more like what the hawks product was. No sense in re bedding pads unless you scuff up the rotors and pads, the material is already built into the rotor.
Lastly the Detroit rotors are not the best quality I have put them on my commuter cars a few times and they have never lasted long.

Good to know about the SIL GLYDE..as for the Detroit Axle Rotors... I have heard and read good reviews on them which was why I purchased.

Update: I removed the front pads and added a good coat of CRC Brake Disc Quiet lubricant... I read that it handles high temps.... Did the bedding procedure... then drove it across town to do some errands. All was quiet... then as I started getting closer to home.. it started squealing again at around 14 mph and slower stops.
I then removed the rear pads and added a good coat on both sides again... then did the bedding procedure... it was quiet for the first few minutes then the squealing started again at around 14mph and slower stops. Whats happening here?

Bedding does nothing after the pads and rotors have been used, Bedding needs to be done when first installed. That is not likely your noise issue any way. Its hard to say with out looking at them in person but there is a good chance they may never be quiet with the low quality rotors.

Sad to hear that... I read nothing but good reviews... I sent Detroit Axle a message about my issue and waiting for a response. If worse comes to worse... Can I resuse my Hawks pads on "Brembo" rotors... or is it too late for that?

You could reuse the rotors, was the rotor mounting surface and hub surface clean? You could try taking everything apart and clean it up and remount, there's no harm in trying the Hawk pads should be quite as they are not their race spec pads.

Yes, the rotors and mounting surface are clean. What I meant was.. if the Detroit rotors are defective and if I was to order "Brembo" rotors... and reuse my Hawks pads... are the pads still reusable... or do I need to sand them down?

You should be fine to run them on the new rotor, you would need to rebed the new rotors. When you bed the brakes you are putting pad material onto the rotor, this help with. Braking.

Thanks for that info. Once I have an answer from Detroit Axle... good or not... I will get new rotors and go from there.
