I don't even pay attention to Clarkson. After the CTS-V episode, I lost all respect for the man. The car was flawless, literally flawless, but he HAD to find something wrong with it because it was an American car.

Just pull the goddamned keys out of the ignition and the car will stop dinging, idiot.

Gee perhaps we should have our own version of Top Gear over here where we could bash British Makes and Models.

Could also provide comment about the dynamic british car industry and how well domestic ownership has driven the industry to new heights.

Oh, wait a minute, none of the various Marques built in England have domestic ownership. Sorry, I lost my mind there for a minute.

Jeremy will drive it, and the review will begin like this. There were be a few shots of the track mid afternoon, a V8 roar slowly increasing in volume. "I'm taking the first drive in the brand new Camaaroh (his pronunciation). It's brutish, unrefined and noisy, and I absolutely love it." Then cut to a shot of a wicked powerslide.

The trend in his reviews is he loves high power cars.

oh, and another oxymoron right away: an american guy making fun of the quality of non-american cars. There's a reason even Cadillac can't sell cars anywhere but the US... but hey maybe that's changing now! they didn't rip the CTS apart, they just pointed out some stuff that could be better!

If Top Gear thinks the Camaro is crap, that doesn't stop you (or me for that matter) from buying it right?

Sorry, to take this in a different direction. However, I did not make fun of all non-American cars. I have a lot of respect for quality vehicles from many manufacturers. Without going through my list, I would say that was not exactly a valid statement on your part.

So I would respectfully ask that you lay off the American bashing (regarless of where you live or your nationality) because I don't care too much for substandard manufacturing and engineering.(Regardless of national origin.)( And yes that includes US Manufacturers also.)

Anyway, I was commenting specifically about British Engineered and built automobiles. Electrical, problems being the most notorious of problems over the years. Also, I seem to recall many British Sports cars having serious rust issues over the years. (not to say that there weren't similar problems with vehicles from other manufacturers.)

Anyway, suffice it to say I will not pursue any further dialogue on a non-issue (as far as I am concerned). If you wish to bash me feel free. It's your right. I just refuse to delve into an endless spiral of meaningless drivel that leads to nowhere.

You know what they're going to say: They will complain about the suspension as being too sophisticated for a brute american muscle car, it should have a live axel and gobs of power. Muscle cars are supposed to be simple powerful beasts that smoke the tires with the mere thought of touching the accelerator. Then they'll go on about how much fun american muscle cars use to be and probably even reference the spirit of America corvette from the late seventies early eighties that was an absolute monster with virtually no brakes.

In other words they'll be hypocrites.

That's not my intention. I know we both can't wait for the Camaro to come out, that's the most important thing!

I have a lot of respect for many foreign cars.

Honda, has always been at the top of my list for consistent quality. I have even owned an Acura. Likwewise, I know Toyota is boring, but they are consistenet in quality. same thing for BMW and Audi.

My daughter just bought a VW Jetta, and I must say that they have improved remakably so over the last generation.

What is troubling to me is the drive by many of the manufacturers to push cost control over substantive build quality. Take Chrysler's drubbing for low quality interiors. That is the main place where the customer interacts with the vehicle and it ends up being the highest on everyone's hit list.

I look at way more vehicles each year because of where I work than most people. I have virtually seen them all. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

This is why I am so excited about the 5th Gen. I want it to be a hallmark of success for the General. Heaven knows they need some hits to stay in the game.
