another leaky oil cooler
I've been fighting a leaking oil cool for too long, where do they typically leak from? it appears mine leaks from the connection point to the block and runs down and drips from the brick itself as well as the oil pan. I've replaced that gasket, so either it's leaking from somewhere else like a crack in the casting or I'm missing something?

The factory oil cooler is prone to leaking which is why most people just delete them.
Might be high time for you to do the same and not worry about it anymore! Many delete kits out there but the one I went with was one from Improved Racing. Here is the Camaro 2010-2011 kit: https://www.improvedracing.com/2010-...elete-kit.html You get a new upper rad hose, coolant plug for the block, and a block off plate for where the factory cooler was. No more leaks. I track my Camaro so I ended up installing a custom oil cooler system with parts from Mishimoto. Improved also sells a complete racing oil cooling kit that deletes the factory cooler as well, but its pricy.

I have that exact kit in my cart right now, Im hesitant to delete my stock cooler because it just feels like a downgrade. plus if it is leaking from where the cooler meets the block, there's a decent change the block off plate would leak too. I'm trying to understand what is causing it to leak in the first place, like does the mounting face of the cooler warp?

Make damn sure it isn't the oil pan.

It is dripping to the ground from the blue circle, and just collecting on the red circles. I don’t see any dampness higher. It appears as if the base of the cooler is the source

My leak is either this or the oil pan. While getting radiator flush dealership thinks it’s oil pan. Dad and I looked at it and I think oil cooler but who knows could be both. Either way buddy and I might as well just pull motor when doing heads cam torque converter. If oil cooler might delete or add my own while adding a trans cooler.
