I know exactly why it came on. Not worried about that.

But, my question is, can this lead to a "reduced engine power" situation?

Or "Limp Mode?"

Or is this ONLY going to be a steering issue and the annoyance of the light and warning on the display?

Battery health is where I would start, These cars really do not like a aging weak one and can cause the issues you are describing.

I am unaware of a list anywhere, but it's almost as if it's a safe mode so multiple things could cause it, misfires could cause it, low fuel pressure and so on.

This ^^^ I have had an instance before where my MIL light didn't come on, but had an issue that DID set some codes without setting the light.

Also you might want to fix what you say caused it..

Hooking a scan tool up should be done with or without a check engine light, having someone that knows how to use one properly helps as well in diagnosing issues.

And it needs to be checked with a scanner that can read all of the modules, not just the P-code engine module.

Here is one example. As for a comprehensive list why bother unless you have a dtc associated with that condition first.

No MIL light.

But I do have 1 code....U0109.....Lost communication with fuel pump control module.

With key on engine off, I get the "service power steering" light.
