Carbon Fiber Driveshaft EXPLODED!!

Has anyone had this happen. There is less than 5k miles on this driveshaft. I was shifting from 1st into 2nd and BOOM! it exploded.

This is from The Driveshaft Shop. I’m calling them tomorrow, but since it was bought in 2022, I doubt they will help out. This car only goes out once every 4-6 weeks, so it doesn’t get used much. This unit was $1,800 so I would like to think it would hold up much longer than it did.

Man, I hope they help you out. After I purchased their 1200hp axles a few years ago that ended up needing a rebuild, the gave me the run around on a rma for weeks to where I just gave up. Maybe its gotten better but their service side was awful, hopefully they are willing to help you out since those are spendy units that should be pretty indestructible under said rated hp. Good luck.

Companies that give you the run around bank on you giving up. As much of a bitch as it is, stay in the fight. Let them know no you’re not going away.

DSS had historically done pretty good by customers even after warranty expires. Hope they fix your stuff.
