Angry Power steering failure (help!!)

I recently lost the power steering in my 2010 SS and I figured that the pump must’ve gone bad. I replaced the pump to one from auto zone and not only do I still not have power steering, but now the NEW PUMP whines (the old one didn’t and I paid $250 for a new pump). Anyways I also discovered that I flushed the system with “power steering fluid” instead of the recommended Dexron VI almost 2 years ago. I’m guessing this is the problem? I can’t think of any fixes for this issue, any help if greatly appreciated!

P.S I undid the feed and rerun lines on the steering rack and got all the wrong fluid out before filling it up with dexron VI.
