Thanks. After this and a few more odds and ends she should be back to her old glory which hopefully continues to bring me out of my funk. Hope to be posting some new pics in a week or so!

Yeah I hear ya there! I'm kinda stuck in one myself the past few weeks. Been a lot of rain and thunderstorms lately and makes it hard to want to get the cover off of her and go for a ride, you just never know when it is gonna rain! The weather here changes from minute to minute, plus with it that way I can't even go fishing, or work the park. So yeah, summertime funk, plus it's hot as all get out!!

Oil change on the 2LS today. Finally got to use my recently acquired QJ extensions. I've got the discontinued 5000SLX and while it works great for the C5Z, it was just a bit short for the Camaros. These extensions cured that and also give it just a bit more lift. Not as heavy as I anticipated but VERY stable.

Went to check on it at the body shop this morning before I got to the office. No work actually done on her yet which is fine. Id rather he takes his time plus hes doing some extras in trade for some work he needed done in his shop. Perks of being in the construction field and handy. Return date has moved from this friday to middle of next week which again, im totally fine with.

Also contemplating ordering some Pedders eXtreme XA coilovers to solve a few suspension and wheel fitment issues. hmmmm

Having recently Painted Black BC/CC on my TA Conversion, and then working the OEM adjacent Paint quality to match, I am interested on how yours comes out. Will they just sand and CC the existing paint on the front end? Or sand, prime, and BC/CC?. And what they will do to refinish the CF Hood.

sooo im not too sure on the terms ur using if im being honest lol. Its literally at the highest rated shop within driving distance. My car is the "crappy" car there amongst all the lambos and whatnot. What I was told was the entire front end is being sanded down completely, then "redone". Hes also refitting my OEM gfx bc over the years, shes been tapped a few times being lowered and all. The hood is being taken down to JUST above the carbon and then "refinished". If im being honest, im not sure exactly whats being done to the hood but hes giving me a hell of a warranty / guarantee on it. The front end is going to be blended into the doors. The Streetfighter spoiler, the decklid, and the roof moldings are being redone as well.

Arogg - I understand your responses.
"The front end is going to be blended into the doors." - that is a challenge for the look of a fresh Black Base Coat/Clear Coat Paint compared to the existing adjacent 14+ year old OEM Paint, and has alot to do with how good the OEM Paint has held up over time.
I cut and buffed the crap out of my existing OEM Paint so it looked almost as good as the fresh paint.
Sanding down and repainting will usually yield the best results versus just sanding and spraying fresh Clear Coat over the existing Paint.
The Hood just needs to be sanded down "smooth" and then some fresh CC, then Cut and Buffed out.

Understood. Sooo to clarify those few points. When cut and polished, the rest of my car looks BRAND NEW. My front end was painted right when I bought the car over a 10 years ago and thats the paint ( clear ) that has failed. well, that and the carbon hood. The car is mainly covered and only has 72k miles iirc. Im pretty confident the blend will be unnoticeable. Also, part of the deal im getting is they are polishing the whole car after painting the specified parts. Im feeling confident in this but of course ill post pics when shes back

She will still have a few "battle wounds" even after this work bc I simply cannot afford to do everything at once if im being honest. IM being realistic and wanting my car back to hopefully bring "me" back. Im soooo stoked to see her looking good again. Already got a few other small parts on order but thatll be it for this year besides some cruising and keeping her clean

Keeping with the theme I did the seats today while watching it rain (again).
Houses around here are still flooded out so more's not appreciated. 🥴

This will come as a shock to some, but I sold it. Going to a home in Missouri.
I love this car, but I guess it's time. For those that know my YouTube channel, stay tuned for some content arriving soon.
