Smallest diameter rims with brembos

Hi, I have a really hard time trying to get decent search results. But im new to the forum. I'm trying to figure out what is the smallest rim i can fit on my 2ss? I went to the track on street tires. Got to go back with drag radials. 20" drag radials are just dumb, in my mind...and cost more. I eould be really happy if there is a decent steel rim option...thanks for any help!

17” fit

Some guys have to remove the “roller skates” if also putting them on the front (rears don’t have them).

Thanks for the reply! I just got my camaro. I've been tuning these cars since 2009 though. I have been a 3rd and 4th gen freak. I know those platforms very well.I'm trying to get up to speed with this gen. Thanks for the response. I'm trying to figure out how to search this forum. It seems that technical information is not compiled as tightly as ls1 tech was. Maybe technical threads here turn into 20 pages of fluff just to obtain certain information. Not a knock on camaro5. I'm thinking that I might just be bad at searching on here. I just went to the track last week. I already know im going to need drag radials at least. I could feel that cradle in the back flexing around REALLY bad. So it's obvious that ill need poly cradle and third member bushings. Ill have to figure out where to get them. 17's are way cheaper and better than 20" dr's, lol. Just a horrible idea, 20" drag radials for 1/4 mile performance. Just my 4 20" rims weigh as much as my entire 87 formula did..

Talking about the cradle moving around, check out this video! This is the reason a lot of us have installed solid subframe/cradle bushings, to get it all tightened up. Makes a huge difference. Some of the guys then also went with poly diff bushings, some stayed rubber, me I stayed stock rubber, but solid cradle bushings. Welcome to the "5th gen" family. Another note on your searching, use google for what you are looking for, combined with camaro5.com, that will get you a lot of stuff that is on here. Good luck!

Video is crazy. I've came to a few conclusions about the cradle bushings. The video is crazy. It does make me wonder why GM decided to engineer that cradle to sort of floating like that. I do know they do have that rear cradle designed to absorb energy and break a certain way apon impact. Just makes me think about what I tell my brother abouh his 99 SS. I him not to use a tubular x member because he has a street car. I've seen 4th gens totaled from a low speed impact. The bmr crossmember held up like a tank though. I know it's not exactly the same thing.....

I do know those bushing inserts sound too stupid to try. I think I might get the poly ones. Still undecided on that or solids. But it looks like ill need 3rd member poly bushings too. I did find some 17" stickies and I'm going back with just them for now. Looks like headers and x pipe will be done before I go back in sept. I do all my own tuning. Been trying to find somebody from the STL area to meet at the track..

I find searching Google using the format of "searchtopic:camaro5" frequently brings better results than searching directly from the forum.

Also be sure to tie back your parking brake cables when running 17s, and go with the solid cradle bushings. Solids really have no downside other than a few extra dollars. Diff bushings are what increase NVH in the cab, so stay away from Delrin units unless you are the hardest core of racers.
