You are right it's not biased towards the z/28 but exactly because of that I find it incredible.
If any of you have ever tried a GT3 you have an idea about how GOOD that car is in the corners. It's almost unreal. Then it has the right power and the right weight. It's the best car on track for normal people. The fact that the Z28 with its 3800lb can even be compared to the GT3 is a monstruous achievement. I can only think of a few cars that from stock (c6 z06, old viper gts) below 100k that can get even close to be mentioned around the GT3 performance on track. Also, thanks to it being NA the performance is kept for multiple laps (unlike ZL1, mustang GT500, etc). It's really an awesome car. severely underrated

Here’s the follow up link link against the GT3 when they retested the car with new tires and the wickerbill.

Didn’t buy the car ended up getting the exact same color car but a 2015 1LE. Saved a lot of cash and man I love this car! Z28 is a forever the goat but I’m happy for now. |

The Z/28 is a whole different animal compared to the SS, raw and built for the track. 60k miles isn’t crazy if it’s been looked after, but definitely check suspension, brakes, and make sure the Recaros aren’t trashed. Tires and maintenance can add up quick on these. If it’s clean and you’re cool with a stiffer, more track-focused ride, it’s hard to beat. Not many out there, so you probably won’t regret it.

I had a 2014 SS 1LE that I ordered new. It was a FANTASTIC car for sure. Then I traded it in, on a used 2015 Z/28. Absolutely different car for sure. The Z/28 is like a really really really pissed off 1LE that just got let out of its cage. The instant you fire it up on a cold start, and you hear that authoritative bark, you just know that this car is something special, and something built with a purpose. Hopefully you'll find one before the prices get way out of line. They seem to be creeping back up over the 60k mark regularly.

'Saved a ton of cash...' I'm thinking most serious Z/28 buyers had quite a few other pieces of criteria for wanting one over saving money. Just an observation.

It's like saying I bought base 911 instead of a GT3, I'm glad I saved a ton of cash. Yeah, they are 2 different cars on 2 completely different levels ![]() I'm sincerely happy you like the SS 1LE (great car btw!) but the Z28 is a different choice: the SS is a street car, the z28 is a track car... the fact that you are comparing them in terms of cash is... uh... weird.

If you look at post #9 it seems to me the OP bought the right car for his intended use. Nothing weird about getting a nice car and saving a few bucks.

Exactly! Tbh I know the Z28 is a different animal No Doubt!!, but for me I decided that with the cash I’m saving I can always build this one up which I probably will. Spending close to 50k to me is not worth it for my usage. The 1 LE is super fun to drive and I have over 20k in my pocket to play with! Also it’s track ready too! ![]() *** to be clear I’m not comparing cars at all! I just got a car more practical for my use and it’s a rarer Camaro SS for mostly street driving.
