15 power steering issue
My 2015 Camaro was recently at the dealer for a bumper repaor which they refused to do. But they knocked loosed the power steering hose which I found out yeaterday when it came all
the way off and emptied the resevoir. I got it back on and refilled the system. But now the pump is super loud. I did not drive it with the hose off. It was only on for a few minutes in this condition and never left the parking spot. I tried to bleed the system by turning the steering wheel on both directions to stop about 30 times. But when I just started the car again you car hear the pump whine badly right when the car fires up. I need to drive this. I think there is air in the system although I bled it twice. Any tips or insight? |

How did you bleed it? Did you do it with the car off, with the front end lifted up onto jack stands? Also, have you checked the fluid level as well?
Sometimes, it's tricky and you might need to turn the steering wheel, fully locked from side to side, about a good 40-50+ times. I think by the time the engine/car is on and the pump is running, it's a lot harder to get out remaining air, although it is possible if you remove the reservoir cap (but may potentially let some power steering fluid out). |

Gonna need to pull a vacuum on this while turning lock to lock.
I bought a Dorman replacement cap from local parts store, fixed a hose barb into it and pulled a vacuum with a a Mityvac while turning it lock to lock. Keep doing until the gauge stops dropping. Be like new.
