engine noise at 3000 rpm

When I get to 3000 rpm, there is an engine noise that sounds like it is coming from behind the glove box. Does anyone know what this is and how to correct it, if possible? Thanks, John

Describe the noise for us. I have several noises that emit from my dash area. A vid would help if you have the ability to get one.

I tried several times to record, but there were too many other louder background noises.

It sounds tinny. It is a quick consistent sound. Not a rattle. I wish I could describe it better.

I would be happy with any thoughts you have. Thanks!

Does it stop after 3000 rpm or increase?

Something to ponder, it has happened, do you have anything in the glove box that might be the culprit?? Rattling. Do you have any "add on" covers under the hood? Like the wire harness cover, brake manifold cover, lose heat shield under the car in the trans tunnel that sounds like it might be behind the dash? Could be anything. Check under the hood for anything lose.

The sound does not get louder with increased rpms

I will double check all of your suggestions.

Appreciate your help.

In the glove box area all I can think of is the blower motor.
