Just picked up a 2010 2SS/RS M6 - It turns over slow?

New to the Forum, signed up a while ago but never bought a 5th gen
I've had four 4th gen Camaros, all 98-02 LS1 w/ A4 & M6.

I just picked up this 2010 Camaro 2SS / RS package with the manual 6-speed.
It has 43k miles on it, so far I'm loving it. I drove it home about 1.5 hours and it ran great.

I noticed it turned over slow when I bought it, it maybe takes 4 slow revolutions before the engine fires up. I figured it had a low battery or something so I shrugged it off.

I shut it off at the gas station half way home and it started slowly again. Got home, put it in the garage and checked the battery voltage and it was 12.6v just sitting with the car off so that seems to be ok. I'm trickle charging it now but not expecting any change.

Is this a common problem? What should I be looking for?

A lot of us have experienced this "slow start" issue when the car is warm, and the battery was good. Here is what we did. You can get the cables at your local auto parts store for about 10 bucks, I did. Hope this helps. I did both..

Awesome, if this does the trick I'd be super happy.
Do you by chance have a cross reference part number for these?

Any 4 awg battery cable that is 2 feet long will work. No need for special part numbers.

I did the ground in the battery compartment on my 2014 and it worked great. Did not need to do the ground under the car.

Getting ready to do the same on the 2015.

Welcome!
More than likely, the extra ground will help out, immensely. Doesn’t hurt to have the battery checked to be sure it’s not on it’s last legs.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'm going to add the extra ground in the battery compartment and see what happens. I don't have access to a lift, so I'm hoping just the one extra ground does the trick.

Hope it works for ya. But as mentioned, have your battery professionally checked to make sure it isn't on it's way out and the CCA's are low, and won't hold a load.

Has anyone ever thought if it affects battery charging/voltage,when there are 2 negative cables in parallel, but only one battery current sensor ? ?

The sensor is mounted directly to the battery post of the car. It doesn't care about any connections between the battery and the car. Not to mention the sensor is only reading the positive side, not the negative side.

Isn't it located 6-7 inches from the negative post.
