Quite the experience to be able to do that! So yeah, traction will be an issue.
That actually sounds awesome. Would love to see that! Or better yet, be in the passenger seat!

Yeah, it's pretty neat for sure! But I wasn't able to do that with just the CAI, TB, and LT's and a tune, it would break them lose just for a second or two, then hook and go. Once I did the cam with everything else, she turned into a monster, and my tuner told me that she would have pretty good torque, and be a monster, and hold it through the entire power band up to 7500 rpm, even though she was still making power, which is where he ended the run because I wasn't sure if I had the "caddy lifters" in it or not from the previous builder/tuner. I have a friend who owns a 2014 ZL1 with only a CAI, and I took him out cruising a couple times, and when I got on it for a WOT pull he said my Camaro pulls harder than his ZL1!! He was impressed! He also has a ZO6.That made me feel pretty good about my build!! lol.

Man, that's awesome! 7,500 rpm must sound sooo good! I can only imagine. I used to have a 1996 Probe GT with 2.5L V6 that redlined at I think 7,200 rpm. Sounded awesome up there! Sounds like I could thoroughly enjoy LTs... and maybe a light cam? BTR stage 1 V2 maybe? Just a slight lope and boost across entire band would be awesome. If you and CD76 meet up, I want pics!

Yeah it sounded pretty cool for sure, 3 pulls up there at my new tuner! After I got her re-tuned at that local good tuner, Hartline Performance, I called Josh at Lashway to see what lifters he put in my engine, because I was concerned about the high rpms, he wasn't sure, he said the GM Performance lifters, didn't mention the "caddy lifters". When he tuned it he only ran it up to 6800 and stopped, but with the LOD manifold I had, it makes good power above that, so I wanted more, as we always do! lol. As she sits now, my redline is at 7200, and my shift points are at 7000.. First through fourth gear. So far all has been good, but I don't run her up there very often, maybe just a first and second gear pull, then just chill out. And yeah, I'm working on a plan to visit SW Florida one day, need to go see what's up over there.

LT's for sure! They along with a good tune will make your Camaro a whole nother animal, mine did! Couldn't believe the change in performance! And a cam? Even a small one will make it even MORE of an animal, for sure! And since you have a manual shift Camaro, don't go too small with the cam, you will be kicking yourself wanting MORE!! Go at least a stage 2 or 3. Mine is a stage 3 and is completely streetable..

I thought 7500 was the shift point. 7000 is way more manageable. 500 rpm doesnt sound like a lot but it definitely is up there.

You know what's funny is when I got my tune done after I went FBO, the trip across alligator alley, I really didnt feel or notice any increase at all in the butt dyno. The cam and heads weren't that noticeable either and that alone was a 51whp increase.

Absolutely agree what Jewld said, go bigger. I also have a custom grind stage 3 cam and can daily this car if i wanted to. Manual cars are more friendly for a larger cam. Also you have a clutch in the car already so its good to go for more power. Buy once, cry once.

Appreciate the rec's from both you guys again! And I will heed that advice. "Buy once, cry once"... that's hilarious. My son-in-law has a G8 that he has done a ton of work on himself. He has a stage 2 cam and I remember him also recommending I don't go less than that. And that lope sounds awesome!

Yeah, I would have done that if my valve train was better suited for that, with a shaft mounted rocker system, lifters, because the dyno curve at 7500 was still going upwards, no dip. I saw a dyne vid somewhere where a shop ran an LS3 up to 8250 with the LOD manifold before it started laying over. Since my rocker system is still stock, except for the CHE trinnions, BTR springs and pushrods, I figured 7000/7200 was pretty nice. The rest is history. Maybe next go round when I have to "refresh" the springs and trunnions again.

For an on track thread discussion. My birthday is in a little where my wishlist has the diode dynamics DS1 headlights and SL2 fog lamp lights all in 6k. I also ordered that harness from Phastek today that keeps the fogs/drls on.

Looking forward to seeing this upgrade. And happy early birthday!! I will have an update also, with Morimoto fogs just installed tonight (well, been installed 4 weeks, finally got them wired). I think Hetfield may like these too, they project pretty nicely!

Man, a lot in here I need to grab a dictionary for... Can't believe the LS3 can get above 8k with proper upgrades. Wow! Sounds like you have yours in a good safe spot, for years of enjoyment. Nice!
