Convertible top opens for 4 seconds then stops? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I go to open the top, push the button and it works for about 4 seconds. Then have to go back down for 1 second, then back up will work for 4 more seconds, then back down for 1 second, then back up for 4 more seconds. After 4 times of doing this the top is finally all the way open. Any suggestions?

Mine does the exact same thing. Waiting to get a good scan tool to see what is going on when it stops.

Not totally uncommon, unfortunately. But probably not a million of them either.

My 2013 is doing the same thing. I don't know if yours is the same but when I press the button to open the top the "let go of the button" beep sounds immediately instead of when it's almost completely open as it did originally. That tells me that the top thinks it's open all the way as soon as you hit the button. I've ready somewhere that the limiter is built into the top activation switch and nobody has a replacement switch that I've been able to find.
