Question 2011 Camaro Release?

Does anyone know when the 2011 Camaro will be available and if there are any major changes from the 2010? I'm trying to decide if I should order one now or wait if the 2011 will be out in a short time.

Man, someone needs to merge all these 2011 questions/speculation/information into 1 big gigantic speculative predictive thread.

Maybe so - but at the moment, I just hope someone has an answer to my question(s)!

It won't be out in a short time. They will build out 2010s till July and start on 2011s in August for delivery in Sept to Oct the earliest. There probably won't be a ton of differnces from what we know so far. Aside from the possibility of a Heads-up display, and some color changes (Synergy Green replaces ABM), it will be the same car.

Not to mention probably a price increase and no tax deductions from Uncle Sam since it expires on 12/31/09.

Latest on the 2011!

I have a friend who knows someone who has a sister....anyway here's the poop.
The 2011 will be offered in the FF (Fred Flintstone) trim only. Zero emissions (except for methane from your hind quarters); "Rag top"; and real wood trim.
Not a hybrid unless you order the limited editon BR (Barney Rubble) model. Then your passenger gets to peddle the car also.
Price is TBD but not expected to be much more than the Dinostang.
Stay tuned, more to come.

yvonnep, I had the same question.

Assuming that my wife and I will return to a double-income household by 1Q10, we will be more than ready to order our 1st 5th gen. Since we have bit the bullet this long, we might as well wait for the 2011. My dealer mentioned that they are expecting to take orders on 2011's by May 2010.

Also, I am hoping the following factory mods will be available for the 2011 model:
1. The improved rear body panel with the new exhaust ports that are available on the Dusk/Jay Leno will be factory- or dealer-ready.
2. Fix the mail slot - either make it functional, or just fill in the hole and go with some kind of input/output from the hood.
3. More options available as far as a rear spoiler from the factory, that are reliable and will not need a recall.

I want to see a full glass top on the 2011 camaro.....Would be sick and I would wait just for that. I am hoping to order in the spring but might wait depending on what the '11 model offers different

Only problem with the full glass top is that that's a lot of extra weight and the car would be over 4,000 pounds... I have a scion tC and its full glass on the top and my car is way heavier because of it.

That would be cool... and possible... not likely but possible....

Not going to happen

Rear air scoop???? Are you talking about the loose spoiler bolts?

You will be able to get the hi-rise spoiler, but not from the factory.

I'm planning on making the agonizing wait for the 2011 as well, or at least until we get enough info to justify waiting. I was already planning on waiting until spring of next year regardless so the extra few months wont kill me I guess
