Anybody know what came of this? Fen?
Nothing came out of it. I hadn't even heard of it until now. We would've seen them in applications by now if it had gone through.

The actual situation was that Ford, BMW, and Honda were considering a three way merger that would create the worlds largest automaker and a genuine juggernaut of a company. Ultimately, all three decided that it just wasn't a great idea. A lot of folks got the impression that one or all of the companies were in dire straits beause of this, but the reality was that they just had their eyes on a what could be scenario.

I've got the distinct feeling that this was probably exclusively about GM getting access to BMW's diesel engines which wouldn't really be a big deal since diesels are often outsourced and the market has come to expect as much. Could it have gone through? Possibly, but even if it did I wouldn't be surprised that we didn;t hear much about it for the reasons stated above.
