I wasn't talking about a loaded SS being 33k, I was talking about the bare bones one being 33k compared to the GT's 26k.
Ahh Yes but When You Get Down To The Nitty Gritty.. What Is The Real Difference in the Two..Basic GT..Premium GT..
The Only Different I Have Seen Is a few options.. Like More seat colors, stereo, Wheels...Same Engine, Trans, HP, ETC.. I Mean If You want a Muscle car. Do you REALLY Need all hte other crap? Just adds weight. Am i wrong?

This Reminds me of the New NISSAN GTR.. The ONLY DIFFERENCE between the BASE $69,850 and The PREMIUM Edition $71,900 is........ Are you ready??

THe stereo (2 More Speakers)..And The Air Bags( Again 2 more). With A $2,050 Price difference.. At a certain point we really must ask ourselves. Is It Worth It?

I Know I AM WAAYY off topic here. But i dont see myself spending an extra 4-6 grand for something that i dont have to have.and still be as quck as the guy who went all out on options .when i can savethat for mods And Smoke Him.

surely there is some logic i do not understand.. Or Is it just a case of mines bigger than yours..

Options have nothing to do with it; my point was that there is too big of a price difference between a base Mustang GT at 26k and a base SS at 33k. As you said, a lot of people will want to save money and skip on having a loaded car, saving the money for performance gains. That's exactly what would happen were there such a large a large difference in price between the two.

He is probably thinking G8 - not G6.

And why is it that you feel the Camaro will be starting at 33k? The LS3 costs about the same as LS1's (give or take), the suspension is being spread out on cars around the world, there isn't much in the way of expensive weight saving bits, GM knows that if there are other cars that offer a little less performance for a lot less price Camaro sales would be non-existent. We've been told countless times to look at the Mustang for pricing, and the Challenger SE and R/T are within a couple grand of similar Mustangs.

The only thing that I can see as raising the starting price of the Camaro SS into the mid 30's is the notion that there is no way that a car of the Camaro's level could be offered at Mustang prices.

Therefore you are correct about it not fully being realeased to the public and being advertised all over. Perhaps you should dig a little deeper into what information you can obtain. I also have information on real test drives of the 09 Camaro, and performance data. The 6.0 which is also shared in the GTO, G6 V8, and the SSR all make the same in HP and all share the same engine. Camaro is expected to hit dealers Jan 09.

hmm hey champ maybe you should do a little more research because any one can read the bogus numbers from the MotorTrend.

the ls2 (alu 6.0l) has been phased out of production and the car will use the ls3 (alu 6.2l) that premiered in last years corvette. the ls3 makes 422hp / 408ft/lbs and with active fuel management (displacement on demand like gmt 900 trucks) it has the l99 code and makes 400hp 396ft/lbs. the only other engine is the Direct injection v6 that is also in Cadillac CTS and makes 300hp.

id like to help you catch up to the times. the GTO and SSR are both no longer made and there is NO g6 v8, maybe you meant the pontiac g8 and but that has a l76 engine with 361hp.
howd i do guys?

take a look on pg 4 were Happy Dan says the V6 gets a 5-speed...lol. Kinda funny that the Kodiak dude who put the 22-33 price #'s said the guy who corrected him's info was wrong.

I don't. I was referring to the estimate from MT or whoever that the SS would cost 33K.
