The video is in AVI format and the 1.4GB is the actual size of the file, and no I have not compressed it yet. How would I go about splitting it? All your help is going to help. Thanks.

For ease, you can just use Windows built in Movie Maker, assuming thats what your using. Otherwise, if on a Mac, then a different story.
My apologies for the baby steps, but not too sure how computer savvy you are. Otherwise disregard my 101 training

As soon as you open it,
Go to import video-1. Capture video.
Locate file name.
Click import.
The file will show in the "collections" windows.
Don't worry about 2. Edit, just skip it.
Click and drag your file window down to the timeline below.
Under 3. Finish Movie, click on save to my computer.
(You may even select upload to Web and send it to Hank that way, but for ease
just save it to your computer so you can upload to youtube later)
Don't use send by e-mail or it will be an iternity.
Name if whatever and where.

Thats pretty much it. Just upload her to youtube and you should be golden.

Thanks for the info, I am only dangerous on my on computer. I have not ever had the need to split videos before, so I had no idea how to do it.

I will give it a try again tonight.

I will keep you all posted on the results. If I cannot get it to work I will look at another approach.

Thanks for the info. I was able to to get the video converted and compressed last night. I will attempt to put it back up on YouTube tonight.

If I get it posted I will place a link on this page as well as E-Mailing everyone that I have an address for.

SORRY

Yes, I know. YouTube will not allow videos longer that 10 minutes to be posted. This video is approx. 43 minutes. Sorry, I am going to try something else.

If anyone has any ideas short of cutting the video in 5 pieces to be able to upload on YouTube.

I will keep you all posted, as soon as I figure it out.

You can do it easily, you will just need to save your video in 4 parts or whatever. I was gonna put another link but
didn't find any user friendly ones.

But anyways, go back into movie maker and drag your full 40 minute video down to the timeline, just like you did earlier.

Clip 1:
Once your on the timeline, scroll all the way to the right, to the end of the video.
If you put your mouse curser at the edge of the video, you can actually drag "cut" the video by right clicking and drag it
aaaaallll the way to the left till you line it up to say the 9min 30sec mark.
Release it and Save your clip, as is, just like when you did the full 40min one.
Don't worry about cutting your original file as you can close movie maker and restart it to do the next parts.

You will need to continue to do the same for the next 3-4 video parts. Just rinse and repeat.

Clip 2:
Start up movie maker again and drag your full 40 minute video down again to the timeline.
Now drag the far right end, just like you did above, but this time only to the 19min 30sec mark.
Then drag the front of the video, just like you did to the end, and drag it up to the 9min 31 sec mark.
Save it and you got your other under 10 min clip.

Clip 3:
Drag your right side down to 29min 30sec.
Drag your left side up to 19min 30sec.
Save

Clip 4:
Drag your right side down to 39min 30sec.
Drag your left side up to 29min 30.
Save

For your last clip, just drag your left side up to the 39min mark and you got your last clip since
you will not have many minutes left.

Let me know if this makes sense or if its wacko.
