Yeah, but you strike me as a reasonable fellow. The two previous threads I've seen on this subject a while back...those guys...not so much.

You seem to have bought the car because you love the car. Its seems like they bought the car because they love the attention.

The attention is a byproduct (which I certainly do not mind) and I take tremendous pride in both myself (being able to afford something as nice as a new Camaro) and in my car (being how special it is; how it makes me special to own one and willing to do whatever is necessary to keep it in great shape for as long as possible). I embrace the attention, but I see the car as a great representation of this era; 2010 if you will. Should I have children, 30 years from now I would love to be able to take my son or daughter for a spin on a beautiful mild Sunday afternoon in the Spring and explain all of the history behind the car and what it meant to me back in 2010. To master the arts of "Zaino" and keep my car looking like new for 30 years would be a testament to my love for everything Camaro indeed.

I honestly don't place as much feeling in how the differences in trim are not great enough. Thinking about it further, it really is a quite a ridiculous topic. I never took into account the suspension, the nose, etc. I was thinking badging, mail slot and engine. It was more of a "wishlist" of sorts, that even more noticeable differences could be made between trims and most are priced accordingly.

I kinda agree with you OP a couple more slight differences would have made them look more different from one another. One thing I think would have been cool if the SS had quad exhaust tips.

A More aggressive hood and a better suspension package lowering the car an inch, along with some more aggressive ground effects would have been nice, but ultimately my car will be moded the way I want it to be and I will have fun doing it.

I really bought the top of the Line 2SS RS for all the features and power. My SKY gets more attention day to day anyway. IT IS ALLLLLL ABOUT THE MUSCLE!

Not enough SS differences. Please. Like a different nose, Brembo brakes, the entire powertrain, 20" wheels, ss badging, suspension... oh, did I mention the powertrain?
Don't piss and moan. You bought a nice Camaro, which is a production car, not a limited edition one-off. The same argument could be made of the GT500. Add a stripe kit to a nicely equipped v6 Mustang and it looks surprisingly like a $46000 GT500. That extra $23K must really piss those owners off, right? It's only more than twice the cost of the base model after all.

I have to greatly disagree. You can put what ever stripes you want on a v-6 mustang and it will never even come close to looking like a gt500. A gt mustang doesn't even look close to a gt500.

Everyone keeps talking about cost. What about preference? I said in the other thread that I didn't want the v-8 even though I could afford it. I did however want the styling. I wanted the styling without having to pay $15,000 extra for ungodly amounts of power that I'll never use. It makes sense to me that Chevy offers basically the same car with 2 engine sizes. Again, I COULD have bought a v-8, but I didn't want it, I wanted THAT car with a v-6 engine. Should I not have had that option?

Everyone think back to when the first pictures of the SS and V6 started showing up. So many people that wanted the SS were complaining because they wanted the V6 front end.. now we are getting complaints that there isn't enough differences between the LT/RS and the SS/RS.. Goes to show you will NEVER please everyone no matter what options you give them...
So Please can we just drop these kinds of threads, they are getting too repetitive...

Indeed.

People shouldn't be surprised...GM does this with a lot of cars. Impala SS for example, it's practically a sleeper car with no discernible differences from an Impala LS other than SS badges, but mash on the throttle and you have a 5.3L V8 and 300 HP at your disposal.

The key here is that in more ways than one, the V6 is meant to be the volume car. In a world where people value fuel economy, there is no compromise with the V6, 29 MPG and 304 HP. Of course, if you want all-out performance, you can always step up to the SS, but the V6 will suit the majority of buyers.

You would be surprised how many people asked if my 2005 V6 Mustang was the new Shebly or new Cobra....

Don't know if you followed the whole $20,000 KR hood fiasco... (now lowered to like $9,000 after a lot of negative reaction). And of course my favorite comment from Shelby Inc., "The last thing we wanted was a customer slapping a KR carbon fiber hood on his V6" Lets alienate a whole lot of Mustang owners in one sentence! LOL

Very good point. I'm with the OP though, It would be cool if they added something to the side of the SS just to make it a bit different. On the other hand, I'm ok with the look since a person doesn't know what they're getting into when they pull up beside the SS.
