I agree it's not wise to break the speed limit. In fact i've seen friends die and be permanently injured because they went beyond their ability.

That being said, it is almost impossible to stay on the speed limit with this car! Maybe it's because it's such an upgrade from my last vehicle (which will remain nameless). But i find myself 10+ mph over the limit constantly. (i should probably remove my location from my profile now, shouldn't i)

Maybe i need lighter shoes?

I wonder why this thread hasn't been removed because the OP was street racing? I thought that was a no no on here....

I've never actually had a speeding ticket. I wonder if that will change when I get my 2SS next month?

And they won't like it if you have a radar detector too! I think that's the only state where detectors are illegal. CT was another one but that was dropped awhile ago.

Got my first ticket about 2 weeks ago, 78 in a 60, not racing. . .just can't keep her under the limit without constant watch. . .to me. . .its more dangerous for me to be constantly looking at my spedometer to stay under. . .

But in all seriousness, I got lucky as well, $0 paid, but I am now taking that risk and staring down my spedometer 24/7. . .my cruise control gets more use than the gas pedal these days

This is exactly why I use my cruise control for long trips. I try to stay with the flow of traffic, but never ever set my cruise for more htan 7 overtheposted speed limit.

Makes me laugh when someone passes me and I see him pulled over not too far up ahead.

I think this thread is probably still going because of the results of the OP's situation. It certainly isn't promoting Street Racing.

I personally would never get invlved with the street racing scene. Too many young folks have been killed over the years, in the Chicago area, because of that activity. I fully agree take it to the track if you want to really give your Camaro some exercise.

Oh, I fully understand the use of CC on long trips and i don't really see speed limits as an issue there. Although, I do find that if you don't pay attention on the drive "here to there"... you'll probably break a limit or two, even lay some rubber if you ain't careful.

I waited until i felt i was wise/responsible enough to own a car like this, before i got one. (Just so happened that GM thought i was responsible enough as well, and released Gen 5.) I'll never race on anything but a track, and always respect the power under the hood! Anyone see that 14 yr old kid drive his dads new 50k 'stang through his garage?
