I understand all points and honestly agree that the z28 will be the gt500 fighter. 44ish price starting point.

I really believe that 10k over entry lvl SS would be a great starting point for what I was talking about. and you haven't lost options that you could get on the SS. but I'm only dreaming.

It's kinda nice when a few of us can have a civilized conversation about this without someone jumping in and getting bent out of shape.

yea I agree and rather enjoy this. even if I know I'm not going to get it. . .lol.

btw was doing some math in my head.

racing seats (less weight) $250 a piece if we bought them right? so charge us $500-$750 for two from the factory for the two front seats.

double adjustable coil over shock setup 1500$ (QA-1 for 4th gen 750$ for rear coil overs package and believe 350$ per shock for front)

headers/full exhaust- $3500 bought on our own for powder coated headers and cat back.

total for just the prices I quoted (off the top of my head from remembering pricing them): $5750.

I know carbon fiber is expensive but I'm sure they could come up with other weight savings for another $5k. Also those prices are if we bought them not in bulk and I know gm would get a discount for buying them in bulk etc. . .so if they were to even charge us a little over their cost for them it's still save us. just a thought

if the SS started out at 26-27k that'd be a starting point of 36-37k. you still have the options (hud, lighting, leather, stereo, etc) and it's your own fault if it weights more. lol. but the goal is to lose 100-200 lbs for only 5k.

You know what would be cool, aluminum suspension compenents, beefier sway bars, a mild lightening, and a couple of handling mods for a 1LE package that was available on the SS and standard on the gt500 fighter. I think that would be Bad-A$$! That way if you couldn't aford the 50k+ super Camaro, you could get a tricked out SS and build your own power while simultaniously producing a beastly blown Monster for those who could.

I don't think that price is out of reason really. It's high for a Camaro, but can you really think of a factory Camaro more deserving of what has been suggested in this thread? I'm not talking about a $90K Berger, but a factory model. It's high, and getting out of my price range, but I'll do my darndest to get it.

I can totally see GM doing this. Aluminum front and rear suspension components and some forged suspension bits with hollow swaybars; sure! I guess GM will keep up guessing for at least another year. :(

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh! Who am I kidding, I won't be able to afford any new Camaro till about gen 6 comes out. I'm just some crazy Chevy guy that likes to pass the time at work dreaming about an imaginary world where I'm not broke.

lol. I hope the GT500 fighter isn't 50k. considering the GT500 is 43k. I'm just trying to see a car to fill the price gap and void to start in the 30k range with more performance then the SS.

Ok guys, are there any confirmed facts suggesting a hi HP camaro other than the LS3.. I've been reading this board every few days waiting for some good news. It seems like alot of folks on here are in the know of an LSA option around the corner?? Quit teasing me!! Doh!

ok no one official has come out and said yes for a fact it's coming.

BUT!

Fbodfather has stated that it's not dead (just read this thread completely).

second

a good reason to believe it's still on it's way, someone just said they got info stating a company was just commissioned by GM R&D to make some Z28 emblems. so. . .

Third

if you talk about it enough and get enough people talking about it GM will eventually bring it out.

lol....nice! The reason the Camaro is coming back is because enough loyalist let GM know how we felt, so there is no reason to think that the same can't be done now. Like the Father said "keep the faith" and he hasn't let us down yet.

I would say if you can honestly afford it, wait 1-1.5 years and if no word buy the latest and greatest SS. By then you should have saved one hell of a down payment on the SS or whatever GM has up there sleeve. Just ask yourself, how many cars has GM made that didn't have a superior model one or two years later?

GTO LS1 then LS2
C6 LS2 then LS3 then LS7(Z06) then LS9(ZR1)........etc so on and so on.

To wait, or not to wait?

Any information about a Z28 car coming up or supercharger options. SO those up us who want the highest end camaro possible know whether or not to buy a camaro ASAP or wait for GM to come out with an even better Camaro in the near future. 2011?
