That is what I was thinking! What would would ungoverned top speed be? I know that when I had my 91 Camaro v6 it had electronic gov set at 110 or 115. It was removed and I got it to 130 (police verified) before I let up.

Doesn't mean the one in the pic is the one they drove.

Just cause it says Governed at 155 does not mean the V6 can reach it.....I think GM is playing mind games with MT... I cannot see that car with that weight and the aero numbers it reportedly has being able to reach 155 with a 300 HP V6. when just a few years ago a Corvette could just barely reach that speed with more HP and better aero...
BUT if FbodFather says it can I will believe it....Scott???

In the write up they did after this pic

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6324

"For this early drive Chevy served up only the base, V-6 version of its new pony car (V-8 drives will follow in about two months)"

and

"Thus far our driving has been limited to the base V-6 version."

WOW; if the top speed is correct, that's amazing. Even if it's not, I know the car will be great. For them to pretty much rave about the car is very encouraging, although, I didn't need them to validate what I already figured. It's nice to see them be objective with the car, and not bring up the whole gold chain-mullet thing.

Nice find

It should be able to reach at least 160 without the governer. My Vette can do 160 and the LT1 is almost identical output wise to this V6. The 155 let's them sell it to UK. I think it's a regulation now.

Buckle up, because the new Camaro runs like a cheetah escaping the zoo. The engine twirls for the 7000-rpm redline as if were born to live there, but at cruise it withdraws, like a fine personal valet, almost into invisibility.

The chassis, boasting a Mustang-crushing independent rear, powers through bends with a level of grip that simply obliterates any "base car" notions. Even pushed as hard as you'd dare on public roads, the Goodriches rarely protest or slip, instead digging in and doing their best to pry your eyeballs from your skull.

The new Camaro feels more akin to an American Infiniti G37.
