a 40k Vette? They're 50k now.
Seriously though, i'm just saying, those kind of "halo" cars, most of us will never own. Plus , if the choice was between a 50k 430hp Vette, and a 45k 500hp Camaro, i'd still go Vette.

honestly you may not see the point but we (the ones that want it) do see the point.

base vette right now is going for 35-40k due to employee pricing. and for me it's 43 normally. but yea base 2009 is 47k.

Also that's what you'd go for. I'd stick with a camaro. I like the option to cram my friends in the back. not everyone wants a 2 seater.

Question...

Since the Gen 5 SS will be far and above superior to the Gen 4 Z28 what would have happened if they had just called the SS a Z28 ? would you even know the difference? and would the SS fans be acting like the Z28 fans are now?... Just wondering...

It fells like a doubled edge sword for me!

Do hold out for a Z28, if I do then I fell though as I am not doing my part to

up sells so that a Z28 would be possible.

SS here comes daddy!

All cars have had serious blue book drops in the last year. There is a Dodge dealer here in town selling trucks at half MSRP. Just saying prices for the last 3 year are over now. Cars are cheaper. If not people will just keep old cars longer and or trade for other used cars. This is what GM and others don't want. They need to move product.

just because we are on opposite sides of the fence on this one. . .

I'm sure the SS fan base isn't as dedicated. you all have cobalts, hhr's, trailblazers, etc.

All I can say to my defence is that GM obviously recognized that a Z28 is different, it means something significant to Camaro fans. If they didn't then they would just kill it and be done. But the fact that they continue to address it shows that it is important to the Camaro brand. And like I've said all along, If the answer is no then I will be content. I will be completely confident that GM made the right decision by killing it. Not one complaint or question as to why. I'll just take my medicine and move on.

But, the fact that GM realizes they must leave a glimmer of hope shows me that they do in fact recognize how important the Z28 is. Furthermore it shows that the Z28 is important to GM.

The proof is in my signature.

I am thinking... ( ow it hurts ) that I may get a loaded RS 300hp, but I will get a Z/28 to go with it as soon as GM builds it... well as soon as possible!

I'm with you....I can't wait any longer, I want a Z28 but am going to buy the SS loaded up, already put down a deposit. When the Z28 comes out in a couple of years, I'll trade up even though I'm going to take a hit. Who knows, maybe I'll win the lottery between now and then and will b able to afford both
