Am I missing the meaning of this interview? I hope so, cause if there's no Z28 or whatever the name 550 hp camaro, suicide is the only option!

The Z28 did dissapear too for a couple years 75-77 and so did the Rally Sport (RS) 74-77 and was brought back in 78 then dissaperared again only to be brought back again later , you can't keep a good car down for long...
Do we consider the IROC a Z28 too?... You're d@mn right!!!

Hey, if you're willing to void your warrant and have the cash, the new SS has tons of potential. IMO with the right mods the SS will easily be writing the first of many GT500 obituaries
.
I'm right here with you too. I'd like to have a GM warranty with all this fun.

Unfortunately GM lost the rights to use IROC as a name years ago, and I doubt there will ever be another IROC-Z....
Anyway we really don't want the New Camaro be asociated with a failed racing series and that Chrysler ruined the IROC name with the Daytona...

That and the fact the IROC went bankrupt and just recently auctioned everything off... guess thats what happens when you associate yourself with you know who.

The only bad thing is that IROC was running Trans-Ams when they went under.

Okay Skyman you beat me by a few seconds...

I'm 35...

I never said I was one of the old guys... I get the Z28 bug from my dad.

I was just speculating that those who were around then might have an greater appreciation for the first gen z28 because it is so valuable now...

That's all.

BUT the SS had a longer and more Honored history.. so it's up to the person.

If you say "I have an SS" you need to clarify it by saying , "I have a CAMARO SS" But if you say "I have a Z28" everyone knows you are talking about a Camaro...

what's in bold is very very debatable. . .but it's personal opinion and I won't go farther then that.

Would be sweet to have some stock races of Camaro's again like the old IROC races. Would be a great promotion race if GM could pull it off. From looking at the frame design it does look like adding a roll bar will be no problemo.

Although, I think we could agree that seeing this car racing every weekend on TV (or even better - in persone) would be friggin' sweet! It would be wise to no associate it with a failed series though.

There's nothing wrong with some polite debating When I first read it, it didn't occure to me right away he may have meant SS in general. I think that is a very valid point. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it trumps Z28 more than vise-versa, but a good point.

Race on Sunday, sell on Monday," as they used to think.

I don't see anything debatable about it. the Z28 has been on one car line since 1967, the SS has been on Many Chevys since 1961, a Storied Drag racing past... a very respected and honored history of SS cars.. that is all I meant about it... and remember the GEN4 Camaro the SS was the highest HP Camaro available....not the Z28....
