Weekend warrior...... well kinda........ sometimes I feel the need to break up the monotonous work week and will drive the beast to work.

I don't know, if I drove it every day, I wonder if it would become "just transportation" to me. Right now, it is one of the things that I really look forward to on the weekends.

They won't melt if driven in the rain, they aren't some 200K exotic sports car.. They are a Camaro, Made for the Common man to be driven every day..

If you keep them locked up and only drive them ocassionally then you are missing alot of pleasure.. it makes driving to work and home much more fun.. you find yourself making excuses to go out of your way to go places.. Use it, Enjoy it, You only live once....for tomorrow you may die...
I drive 2200 miles a month and have over 160k miles on my 2003 Ranger. My 30th is a weekend car. If I would have used as a daily driver since new I would have 250k miles on it and the car would be in rough shape. Now its cherry with 20k miles on it.

Thats cool, yours is a special edition and I don't blame you for keeping the mileage low... but It's going to take 30 or 40 years for the new Camaro to maybe get to be of collector status... by that time I will be 86 or 96 years old.. I think I will enjoy it now and let someone else worry about restoring it later...
there are so many people that will be storing these cars that I really doubt they will become collectable for a very long time, other than maybe some special editions, (transformer, maybe the Z-28... If they are built and are limited in number) only time will tell..

Going to DD mine, at least until the mileage catches up with my '02. After that, gonna try and alternate, in order to kinda keep the mileage down on both cars. Will probably still drive the 5th gen more, but won't know till that day comes, will we?.. Impatiently waiting

No winter uses for my Camaro. It's tucked away as we speak. DD is a Suburban. The Camaro is weekend and Friday night cruiser only.

DD. My work is a 28-mile daily round trip, so that isn't too bad. I try to let it rest on the weekends, but it's hard not to drive it. Got it at the end of Sept. & it has nearly 3200 miles (but the first 1500 I drove it constantly for break-in, so that doesn't count.)

I don't think people are missing out on anything if they don't use it as a DD. I intend to keep mine excellently maintained, so I expect it to last 15 years or so (my first Camaro was an '80 and I sold it in '96, and it wasn't even well taken care of.) But someone who isn't using it as a DD could keep it that much longer. So it's short-term enjoyment vs. long-term enjoyment (relatively speaking, of course.)

Besides, it HAS to last another 5 years and 10 months, because that's how much longer I'll be paying on it.

Oh, and the fact that it is a DD had nothing to do w/ color choice for me.
